Copper Leaf Process

One of our customers has recently ordered two plaster wall lights to be copper leafed for either side of a fireplace.

The process of the copper leaf is shown below step by step. First the surface is prepped with a primer, as it needs to be non porous, this is then left to dry. A acrylic adhesive it applied and left to set for a period of time before the copper leaf is transferred. Once this is complete and has been left to dry out a finishing varnish is applied.
